SP HEMIJA OSVOJIO DRUGO MJESTO NA TAKMIČENJU ZA PROJEKTNE IDEJE EVROPSKOG INSTITUTA ZA INOVACIJE I TEHNOLOGIJU

U organizaciji Regionalnog centra EIT RawMaterials iz Leobena, Austrija, podržavanog od strane Evropskog instituta za inovacije i tehnologiju (EIT RawMaterials) održane su dvije konferencije na teme sirovina u Evropi: „Budućnost visokog obrazovanja u oblasti sirovina“ i „11. konferencija o dijalogu između istočne i jugoistočne evrope sa takmičenjem za projektne ideje“. Konferencija je održana u rektoratu Univerziteta u Zagrebu, a Univerzitet u Banjoj Luci su predstavile doc. dr Suzana Gotovac Atlagić sa Prirodno-matematičkog fakulteta i mr Ljiljana Tankosić sa Rudarskog fakulteta. Na prvoj konferenciji su koleginice predstavile zajedničku usmenu prezentaciju na temu „Sprečavanje odliva mozgova iz Bosne i Hercegovine kroz unapređenje obrazovanja u oblasti sirovina“. Aktivnosti opisane u radu su rezultat nacionalnog projekta finansiranog od strane Ministarstva za naučnotehnološki razvoj, visoko obrazovanje i informaciono društvo, pod nazivom „TRAKMAT“. Kroz ovaj projekat PMF i Rudarski fakultet sarađuju u smislu obogaćenja programa praktične nastave za studente ova dva fakulteta. Rezultat projekta su ovoj godini brojne studijske posjete domaćoj uspješnoj industriji, kao i odlasci studenata na ljetne škole ili na mjerenja na savremene institute u Evropskoj Uniji. Kroz nastavni proces, projektni tim nastoji vršiti pozitivnu propagandu o uspjehu domaće industrije u oblasti sirovina koji je izuzetan. Brojne strane i domaće investicije poslednjih godina su obezbijedile na stotine radnih mjesta u oblasti ekploatacije rudnih sirovina kojima je Bosna i Hercegovina bogata. U prilog nam ide i tendencija da EU zemlje smanjuju broj rudnika ili ih potpuno gase, dok se u našoj zemlji investicije povećavaju i samim tim i broj dostupnih radnih mjesta u ovoj oblasti. Zato je veoma važna i tema koja je izlagana na konferenciji, dakle borba protiv „odliva mozgova“.  Sprečavanjem odlaska mladih ljudi, oni će biti najbolji „ambasadori“ tzv. zelenog rudarstva, dakle rudarstva koje podrazumijeva minimalno zagađenje i potpunu rekultivaciju zemljišta nakon završetka eksploatacije. Važno je postići balans između intenzivnog rudarstva i hemijske prerade rudnih sirovina sa ekspanzijom turizma koja se trenutno u Bosni i Herecegovini događa. Domaćim mladim stručnjacima će sigurno biti važnije nego stranim da očuvaju prirodu naše zemlje.

Tim PMF-a tačnije studijskog programa hemija je osvojio drugo mjesto na takmičenju za projektne ideje. Izložena je ideja o unapređenju procesa proizvodnje u domaćoj industriji „Destilacija“ a.d. koja podrazumijeva da se na 130 godina staroj liniji za proizvodnju briket drvenog uglja, proizvodi nanoporozni, aktivni ugalj, obogaćen metalnim nanočesticama. Aktivni ugalj je izuzetan filter materijal koga naša Republika trenutno uvozi u prosjeku 400 tona godišnje.  Nagrada podrazumijeva fond od 2000 eura za putne troškove tima za odlaske do Austrije, da bi uz podršku Regionalnog EIT centra iz Leobena bio pripremljen projekat na većoj skali kako bi i sama industrija a i Univerzitet dobili značajnija sredstva za realizaciju. Aktivnosti će početi u januaru 2020.

CHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT WINS A SECOND PLACE IN COMPETITION FOR THE PROJECT IDEAS OF THE EUROPEAN INSTITUTE FOR INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY

Two conferences on raw materials in Europe were organized recently by the Regional Center of EIT RawMaterials) from Leoben, Austria, supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT): „The future of higher education in raw materials“ and „11th Eastern and Southeastern Europe Dialogue Conference with a Competition for Project Ideas. “ The conference was held at the Rectorate of the University of Zagreb, and UNIBL was represented by Assist.prof. dr Suzana Gotovac Atlagić from the Faculty of Science and MSc Ljiljana Tankosić from the Faculty of Mining. At the first conference, the colleagues presented a joint oral presentation on „Tackling the brain drain from Bosnia and Herzegovina through the improvement of education in the field of raw materials“. The activities described in this paper are the result of a national project funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology Development, Higher Education and the Information Society, entitled „TRAKMAT“. Through this project, the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Mining cooperate in enriching the practical training programs for the students of the two faculties. The result of the project in this year are a large number of study visits to a successful domestic industry, as well as student visits to summer schools or measurements at contemporary institutes in the European Union. Through the teaching process, the project team seeks to make positive propaganda about the success of the domestic raw materials industry that is exceptional recently. Numerous foreign and domestic investments in recent years have provided hundreds of jobs in the field of mining of raw materials in which Bosnia and Herzegovina is rich. To our favor goes also the tendency for EU countries to reduce the number of mines or shut them down completely, while in our country investments are increasing, and therefore the number of available jobs in this area. That is why the topic presented at the conference (prevention of the  brain drain) is very important. By preventing young people from leaving, they will be the best „ambassadors“ of the so-called green mining, that is, mining that implies minimal pollution and complete reclamation of land after completion of exploitation. It is important to strike a balance between intensive mining and chemical processing of mineral resources with the expansion of tourism currently taking place in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It will certainly be more important for domestic young professionals than foreign ones, to preserve the nature of this country.

The PMF team (Chemistry Department), won a second place in the competition for project ideas. The idea presented is ​​improvment of the production process in the domestic industry „Distillation“ a.d. in which a 130-year-old charcoal briquette production line should produce nanoporous, activated charcoal enriched with metal nanoparticles. Activated charcoal is an exceptional filter material that our Republic currently imports on average 400 tons per year. The award for Chemistry Department includes a € 2000 fund for the travel expenses to Austria, where with the support of the Leoben Regional EIT Center they would increase the chance to prepare a project on a larger scale so that both the industry and the Universities themselves receive more significant funding. Activities will start in January 2020.
